The Academy

The Academy serves as the knowledge transfer arm of the CSBT. Its purpose is to carry the research and insights developed within the CSBT directly into the organizations that shape the sports industry. The Academy is supported by the CSBT’s practice partners ensuring a close connection between analytical work and real world application. As its flagship program, the Academy conducts the Executive Sports Management Program (ESMP) once a year.

Next Gen Leaders
The program is designed for emerging leaders in the sports industry who are preparing to move into decision making roles or have recently assumed such positions.
Participation in the ESMP is limited to 12-20 pre selected participants p.a. to ensure a high level of academic quality and meaningful exchange among participants.

Prof. Dr. Ansgar Zerfaß, a globally leading Professor in strategic communication, and Tanja Dorr, partner at fgs global with deep sports-sector experience, show how communication shapes reputation, manages stakeholders, and prevents backlash. The module trains leaders to master digital opinion dynamics and align communication with business goals.

Prof. Dr. Peter Witt, an award-winning scholar in technology and innovation management, and Thomas Ehemann, Head of Digital Fan Experience at FC Bayern München, teach how to assess emerging technologies, balance profitability and innovation, and make financially sound investment decisions that drive long-term value in the sports industry.
